Luke graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and spent the following eight years working as a general practice surgeon across Ballarat and Geelong. During this time, he gained extensive experience across a wide surgical caseload, which naturally guided his transition into referral practice and specialist training.

In 2018, Luke attained Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the Small Animal Surgery chapter by examination. He subsequently completed a surgical internship before undertaking a research fellowship focused on breeding screening for Canine Elbow Dysplasia. His work in this area contributed to multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications, particularly on CT-based breeding screening and the optimisation of early detection of elbow disease.

Luke completed his surgical residency at Peninsula Vet Emergency and Referral Hospital in 2025. His training encompassed a wide range of soft-tissue, orthopaedic, neurologic and minimally invasive surgery. Luke is committed to evidence-based practice and delivering the highest standard of surgical care for his patients. He enjoys ongoing clinical research, mentoring veterinary colleagues, and contributing to the advancement of surgical practice within the profession. 

Outside of veterinary practice, Luke is a keen sports enthusiast and enjoys an active life with his three young boys and their Golden Retriever.
